Who are we ?

SIRAT is India's first largest cleft community

We are dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals with cleft conditions and their families. As a section 8 not-for-profit organization, we focus on raising awareness and offering a wide range of support services. Our approach is holistic, addressing medical needs, educational challenges, and emotional well-being, ensuring that individuals and families associated with cleft conditions receive the care and support they deserve.

It all started when two people came together after feeling alone for two decades...

Founded by Ashim Garg and Sakshi Kothari in 2022, both of whom were born with cleft lip and palate themselves came together to address a huge gap in the comprehensive cleft care system.

For more than two decades of their lives, they felt isolated and alone in their cleft journey in the midst of numerous surgeries, treatments and exploration towards finding their true selves. In 2022, when they first met at a cleft conference, they realized that there was need for a support community and just like that SIRAT was brought to life.

SIRAT means character. On our journey from 'Soorat to Sirat', our aim is to shift the perspective of people from looking at the face-value (Soorat) to the inner-qualities and character traits of an individual (Sirat).
